Mike Lee Jazz Web Design Notes
October 22nd, 2007:
It's been about a year since I last rebuilt the site. This incarnation was done using the jEdit program I used last year. I'm a little more comfortable with html now. The most important difference is the look of the site. I used a lot more graphics and colors. I experimented with some Java and different music playing aps.

I've just put up this completely new design. Yes, I know I did this just a couple of weeks ago, but then my buddy, bassist Andy Eulau told me that I had a few things to work out. Mainly, the use of tables and frames are out-dated and not search engine friendly. Sure enough, I can't find the site in a google search for "Mike Lee Jazz" like I could for years with my very simple design. So now I've made all the divisions using the newer div code and external css sheet. Also I've implemented include codes to replace frames.

I've done this using a text editor called "jEdit" that uses color coding that sometimes lets me know when I've used code incorrectly. I've checked this on IE7, Netscape and Firefox. I haven't tried it on earlier versions, so if it looks weird, update your browser! I've used tutorials at Your HTML Source extensively. I hope you enjoy the information displayed here!
